A rare large dark blood red Cinnabar tumble stone.

Cinnabar has been mined for thousands of years. Since Neolithic times it has been valued as a unique deep red pigment and was used in cave paintings. From Roman times it has been mined in Europe in the famous Spanish Cinnabar mines of Almaden. It is found in many countries around the world with large deposits being in China, Peru and California.

This Cinnabar is from China.

The stone you see in the photographs is the one you will receive. The acrylic stand is not included.
