I first fell in love with crystals 20 years ago when I lived in Morocco for several years. In the high heat of summer we would take day trips out into the beautiful Atlas Mountains where temperatures were always cooler. During the lush green flush of spring the mountain sides are carpeted with a riot of wild flowers in vibrant reds, purples and yellows but by the end of May as the temperatures climb vegetation dies back and the Atlas becomes a hot, dry and very difficult place to live and many people there make their living from the minerals they find locally. Dotted along the winding roads there are stalls and shops selling amazing rocks and crystals which we would stop at and browse.
When I returned to the UK in 2005 I opened our Ebay shop and with the help of my daughter we sold crystals at Psychic Fairs all around London and the South of England. Most years I would take a trip back to Morocco and drive again through the Mid Atlas, up into and over the High Atlas and on to the plateau where the Sahara Desert begins to visit all the sellers and come back with the car packed to the roof with new 'treasure'.
My Indiana days ended when I was diagnosed with progressive Multiple Sclerosis and business became wholly online as my ability to move about became more restricted. Several years ago my daughter Emily joined me and running Crazicarma's is now a joint venture.
We have always sold our crystals individually and I am very proud that we have now sent out almost 50,000 individual stones and crystals to a myriad of countries around the world.
The first lesson taught by crystals is self responsibility, that you alone are responsible for your choices and that by your choices you form who you are and what your life looks like.
Choosing a crystal can be the first step on a path to change yourself or your life but crystals are not magic, work is required to keep moving along the path you are setting for yourself. Changing can be difficult and you may stumble on the path but pick yourself up, forgive yourself and carry one. No mistake or failure is as bad as to stop and not try again.
At Crazicarma's we believe that crystals are important tools in the ascension of humanity. The choices we make and the lives we now live are causing problems for our planet and everything we share it with. We can be better, we can do better and it is for each one of us to start taking steps along a different path.
