A beautiful sparkling pure white Cave Calcite cluster.
These clusters are not actually Calcite but Aragonite. Calcite and Aragonite are sister minerals both being Calcium Carbonate. They have different crystal lattices that form differently shaped crystals but their main difference is where they form.
Calcite forms in warm water environments (hot springs, thermal vents, your kettle) whereas Aragonite forms in cold water environments (the oceans and seas as the shells and hard bodies of marine creatures such as mussels, prawns, crabs and the endoskeleton of corals).
Cave Calcite forms on the interior walls of caves in a similar way to stalactites and stalagmites.
This Aragonite comes from Mina Potosi, Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Size and Weight
This cluster is 11.4cm long and 5cm wide and weighs 238g.
Aragonite in Crystal Healing.
Aragonite is a stabilizing, centering and grounding stone. It is gentle but encourages growth in all directions, helping you to look at all viewpoints and options whilst bringing calm for reflection.
Aragonite is a down to earth healer of the desire in us to wear blinkers about available possibilities and choices. It shows us the myriad of choices we can make whilst grounding us always to our centre with powerful earth energies.
