Platinum Obsidian is a banded form of Obsidian.

The grey (platinum) sheen effect patterning on this sphere is caused by the presence of tiny gas bubbles stretched almost flat along the flow layers of the volcanic lava that cooled to form this type of Obsidian.

This Platinum Obsidian is from Mexico.
