A rare natural Red Amphibole Quartz crystal.

Amphibole Quartz is also known as Angel Phantom Quartz as it's often white tipped wispy phantoms resemble angel wings.

Amphibole quartz is Quartz that contains one or more of the Amphibole minerals. The most common are Actinolite and Tremolite and more rarely Glaucophane, Hornblende, and Riebeckite. These are fibrous minerals and it is these fibres that give this form of Quartz it’s wispy phantoms.

These Red Amphibole Quartz can also contain Limonite (yellow), Kaolinite (white) and Lithium (pink), their red colouration is due to Hematite.

This form of Quartz is also sometimes called Rooster Tail Quartz.

This Red Amphibole Quartz is from the Serra do Cabral Mountains, Minas Gerias Brazil and is found in the same mining areas as Lemurians.
